About Pokhara

Pokhara, the second-largest city in Nepal, is situated on the shores of the pristine Phewa Lake with the magnificent Annapurna range forming a stunning backdrop. Often referred to as the tourism capital of Nepal, Pokhara offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure activities, and relaxation.

The city serves as the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit, one of the most popular trekking routes in the world. The Annapurna range, with peaks like Annapurna I (8,091m) and the distinctive fish-tail shaped Machapuchare (6,993m), creates a breathtaking panorama visible from many parts of the city.

Phewa Lake, the second-largest lake in Nepal, is the centerpiece of Pokhara. Boating on the lake, visiting the Tal Barahi Temple situated on a small island, and watching the mountains reflect in the calm waters are popular activities. The lakeside area is lined with hotels, restaurants, and shops catering to tourists.

For adventure enthusiasts, Pokhara offers paragliding, zip-lining, ultra-light aircraft flights, and white-water rafting. The city is also known for its caves, waterfalls, and gorges, including the famous Davis Falls and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave.

The International Mountain Museum provides insights into the history of mountaineering and the cultures of the Himalayan region. The World Peace Pagoda, situated on a hill overlooking the city, offers panoramic views of the lake and mountains.
